Unit 2.1 DB: Discrimination and Human Behavior Unit 2.1 DB: Discrimination and Human Behavior Consider discrimination and human behavior. One definition of the verb discriminate* is “to make a distinction in favor of or against a person or thing based on the group, class, or category to which the person or thing belongs rather than according to actual merit; to show partiality.” Each of us discriminates every day; every time we make a choice of some type. We choose, often because of our likes and dislikes subtle though they may be. View this week’s videos since they pertain to the basis of our discriminations; how they are formed in us and, importantly, how they impact the manner in which we make our choices…and how we instinctively behave. QUESTIONS: answer each one separate with APA format as required 1. How do the two (discrimination and human behavior) play out in terms of workplace diversity? 2. When can they have a positive impact and when do they have a negative impact? 3. Provide your thoughts and examples to back up your views. Be sure to reference information from our videos where appropriate. When the videos are cited they need to be in the APA format – the following is the format for one of the videos (it is the same format as any source from a textbook or video with an author – if there isn’t an author the name of the video is first followed by the date) in-text citation (Seidenstein, 2011) Reference after paraphrased information (Seidenstein, J.
