Background on the Final Project:
Assume you have an unlimited budget and that you may do anything you want—with the following exceptions: you may not re-write the original or present a completely new script even if it’s inspired by the original play. To be clear, you cannot create an adaptation of the play—that is you cannot change the scriipt (editing the words, events, or situation) to fit your vision. You must honor the integrity of the playwright’s words and work with the selected text.
Your interpretation must focus on one of the case study plays: A Doll’s House, Fences, No Child or Sweat.
You may develop your interpretation through design choices that are inspired by any place or time period as long as you justify your choices. (For example: argue why your approach is influenced by America in the 1960s, London in the 1980s, the Wild West, the future, the 1930s Depression, etc.) Describe and explain why your vision is relevant and a fitting way to contextualize the play and its concerns. Explain why you chose this approach and demonstrate how your vision enhances the play. You need not take a realistic approach–your concept may be stylized or postmodern and may combine times and places by drawing from more than one era and place, as long as you substantiate why this fusion or pastiche best represents the world of the play. For example, you could take these design choices and set them in a contemporary skate park with industrial scaffolding and graffiti sprayed backdrops.
The 1101 final.pdf contains all information that was given regarding the play A Doll’s House and in addition to the information provided, need two outside peer-reviewed sources for the essay.
