Read Street Car named Desire by Tennessee Williams. Think about the following prompts:
Blanche seems tied to an old memory of life in the South, while Stanley seems to represent a new image of the South. Does Williams seem to favor one over the other? What are the strengths and weaknesses of each one?
The events of the poker night culminate with Stanley beating Stella, Stella running upstairs, and then Stanley calling her down. Why does Stella come down? What do we learn about their relationship from this scene?
