This week, you will focus on content area vocabulary instruction. Select a grade 6–12 content area concept that is difficult for students to grasp and is aligned to the content area standards for the selected grade level. Respond to the following in a minimum of 175 words: What content area concept are you focusing on? Why is this concept difficult for students to grasp? If you were to use reading material or media to introduce this concept, what would you choose? How would you select specific vocabulary words from the chosen reading material or media that are important for students to learn? What vocabulary instruction strategies would you implement to teach those words?
