The prompt question you must answer and respond to in order to write Essay #1 is:
As Rich Furman argues, “Not only have music, poetry, dance, and art become aids in patient care, each has become a valuable tool in qualitative research” (p. 560). Why? Explore this statement in an essay length answer. (In so doing, you should refer to Furman’s article to support your argument but you must also reference other course materials such as other articles, films, video clips and course forum discussions.)
As explained last week, there are specific parameters that you must follow in formulating your answer and then formalizing these ideas via Essay #1:
1. Your essay is due to the Turn-It-Folder
2. It should be approximately 2500 words in length.
3. You do not need to create either a Title page or a References page because if you use APA parenthetical format correctly—for example (Nielsen, 2019, p. 1)—and you must, it will be very easy for me to locate and cross reference each of your citations for information that is either paraphrased or directly quoted as you might wish to do very occasionally.
4. You must also work with materials included in this course as no outside research is required nor encouraged.
5. You should have a thesis statement, a brief introduction and concluding paragraph, and full scholarly paragraph throughout each with a topic sentence.
